| Arrowhead Principal Mr. Aaron Roberts |
Friday was an interesting day at Arrowhead Elementary School. The students were all dressed in red, white, and blue for Patriot Day. I was very excited because I am Patriot Pete after all! In honor of Patriot Day, which remembers those lost in the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001, Arrowhead Students had a little ceremony around the flagpole and I was included. I wore the blanket from my backpack because it is very patriotic and has a flag on it! Mrs. Conger the school librarian also gave me an American Flag to hold. We said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang America the Beautiful and then the kids sang the Arrowhead School Song. I didn’t feel so bad that I didn’t know it because their new principal, Mr. Roberts, didn’t know it either. It is a really cool song. It talks about teaching truth and honor every step of the way. I like that. The picture is of me, Mr. Roberts, and some students at the ceremony.
I also learned the proper care of a library book during Mrs. Conger’s library classes. The rules are: always use a bookmark (and Mrs. Conger gave me a bookmark to put in my backpack), don’t eat or drink around a library book, always have clean hands, don’t take library books outside, don’t let them near pets or babies, don’t take them out on the school bus, keep them in a safe place (like your backpack), and return books on time so you can get another library book! I am learning a lot at Arrowhead! Can’t wait to be in the videos the students are making next week to celebrate Constitution Day!
