Meeting the Valley Prep Headmaster
My first full day at Valley Prep was an exciting one! I learned a lot about poetry today, and even got to write a cinquain poem. Every student in 2nd grade has a laptop computer and I loved seeing all of the projects they were working on in class. My favorite part of the day though was when I got to meet the headmaster, Michael Hughes, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. Mr. Hughes spent 22 years in the military, served in two wars, and even helped other people become officers in the army when he taught at West Point. It was an honor to meet him and hear him talk to the students about what patriotism means and why it is so important!
